Description

The HZ-4000B is an underground cable and pipeline locator by Huazheng Electric, engineered to trace routes, pinpoint fault points and measure burial depth of pipelines, power and optical cables without excavation. It is adapted for pipeline inspection, maintenance, municipal planning and power network management.
Main features
  • Transmitter with three connection modes: inductive, direct and clamp; adjustable output up to 10 W.
  • Receiver detects position, route, depth and applied current; left/right and forward/back arrows plus dB readout for rapid fault indication.
  • Backlight for low‑light operation; optional GPS for automatic mapping and optional professional data‑analysis software with automatic report generation.
  • HZ-4000B capability: locate coating-breakdown points on pipelines and outer‑layer damage on electric cables; insulation fault detection.
  • Integrated multimeter functions: measure output voltage, line voltage, line current, impedance and power; perform continuity and insulation tests before and after fault finding.
  • External induction clamp available when direct signal application is not possible; multiple location modes (valley/peak/broad‑peak/peak‑arrow) for cross‑checked accuracy.
Positioning and depth measurement
  • Depth methods: dual‑level coil direct reading; single‑level coil 80% and 50% methods; 45 method for cross verification.
  • Typical positioning depth up to 6 m depending on model and conditions (some variants indicate 3 m).

  • High‑capacity lithium batteries in transmitter and receiver provide long continuous operation (typical full‑day field use); device can be powered by adapter if needed.
