Description

Overview
Passive Purple X is a fire-class B airtight coating and vapour-control membrane supplied in a brush-applied 5 kg tub. It provides a watertight yet vapour‑open membrane for internal and external building envelopes where reaction-to-fire performance is required.

Key Features
  • Watertight yet vapour breathable
  • Airtight
  • UV resistant
  • Anti-fungal properties
  • Self-cleaning / reduced dirt pickup due to UV netting
  • Crack‑bridging
  • Carbonation barrier and realkalising action for concrete
  • Protection against salt attack on concrete structures near roads
  • Can be used as an anti‑carbonation protective coating on concrete
  • Coverage: approx. 1 kg per m²

Tested & Certified — fire-rated, watertight & breathable
Passive Purple X has independently verified performance to relevant European and US standards:
  • Reaction to fire: Euroclass B‑s1,d0 (EN 13501‑1) on suitable substrates and ASTM E84 Class A (Flame Spread 0 / Smoke 15)
  • Watertight: Class W1 (EN 13859‑2) & water permeability Class W3 (EN 1062‑3)
  • Breathable / vapour-open — Sd ≈ 0.6 m (EN ISO 12572)
  • Crack-bridging: A3 (23°C) / A4 (-10°C) (EN 1062‑7) and CO₂ / carbonation barrier Class C1 (EN 1062‑6)
  • Approvals: Kiwa BDA Agrément (BAW-21-214-P-A-UK); Passive House component (phB); US ICC-ES AC212

Why Choose Passive Purple X?
  • Cost-effective coverage, especially when spray-applied with airless equipment
  • Water‑based, VOC‑free formulation
  • Easy application — compatible with airless spray, roller or brush (this pack: brush-applied)
  • Suitable for external use — creates a durable watertight vapour-control membrane with UV resistance
  • Fire-rated — provides Class B fire performance
  • Maintains airtightness while allowing controlled vapour release

Uses & Directions
  • Adheres to insulation panels, concrete and brick walls, fibre cement boards, engineered wood panels / OSB
  • Surface preparation: remove salt efflorescence, dust, loose material and standing water; fill holes and joints as required
  • Application: do not add water or solvents; do not apply in direct sunlight or in rain; avoid substrate temperatures below 5°C; humid surfaces allowed if no standing water
  • Apply in two layers — allow first coat to dry before applying second
  • Tools: clean with water after use
