Working Principle
An electronically controlled pressure regulator consists of a high-speed processing electronic board, air pressure transducer, one normally closed solenoid valve for air inlet, and one for air exhaust. Upon receiving an electronic signal (0-10V, 4-20mA, or digital) from the controller, it commands the solenoid valve to open for air inlet. The built-in transducer senses pressure and converts it to a digital signal. The electronics compare the set signal with the output pressure and operate the inlet or exhaust valve accordingly, using a PID loop until the set signal equals the output pressure.

Due to its high resolution, the low pressure electronically controlled pressure regulator is used in combination with:
- Air pressure ratio regulator: Amplifies output pressure in ratio with the dome pressure regulator (typically 20:1). Used for stable high pressure control up to 210 bar (3000 psig).
- Volume booster: Pairing with a high precision volume booster (1/2" ~ 2") allows accurate control of ultra-high flow rates while maintaining fine air pressure control. Used in blow molding/blowing processes.
- Steam pressure / water pressure dome pressure regulator: Electronic control is critical in food and tire manufacturing industries.
- Back Pressure Regulator: Can be piloted by the electronic regulator for back pressure or forward flow rate control. Features quick response and stable set value pressure.
