OverviewThe RoaDyn P1xT wheel torque transducer provides precise torque measurement for road load data acquisition on commercial vehicles. The transducer replaces the central part of the rim for optimal integration into the suspension.
Main features / advantages- Two independent, switchable measuring ranges: 10% and 100%
- Quick and easy mounting on different vehicles with appropriate adaptions
- Setup time under 15 minutes
- Low additional unsprung mass and low moment of inertia
- Automatic identification and data transmission via farfield wireless telemetry
- Four additional temperature channels for simple connection of Type K sensors
DescriptionThe measuring system comprises three main components: the wheel torque transducer, the data transmission module and the on-board electronics (control unit). A wireless digital telemetry system is available to transmit data from the rotating wheel to the on-board electronics. By replacing the middle part of the rim, the RoaDyn P1xT series is integrated at the most effective position for acquiring wheel forces and torques. Mounting the transducer on the vehicle is comparable to changing a standard wheel. Traction torque My is measured with piezoelectric quartz sensors. Two switchable measuring ranges allow precise measurement of both small and large torques. Signals are amplified and processed in electronics integrated into the wheel. A digital transmission option with CAN bus telemetry is available for transfer to the customer’s data acquisition system. Transmission modules are quickly and easily exchangeable. The digital telemetry family Type 9811B can transmit My plus three additional temperature signals and the wheel electronics temperature.
