Product overview
With the CE-Type, LEBEN offers a maintenance-free deformation tube (so-called crash element) for emergency use, for example as fall protection. The COMPENSER® of the CE series is an irreversible impact-reduction element that absorbs energy by plastic deformation of the tube and by friction, converting it into heat. Several deformation tubes can be arranged in parallel as an end stop if required.

Design & Function
The crash element is mounted to the support structure via the rear flange (designation 3). In the event of an impact, the plunger (acting as a mandrel, designation 1) enters the deformation tube (designation 2) and expands it by up to 20%. The introduced kinetic energy is converted into deformation energy and, through friction, into thermal energy. The combination of deformation and friction determines the reaction force.
The maintenance-free crash element of the CE series is a cost-effective irreversible impact-reduction element intended for single-use emergency applications: it prevents structural destruction by absorbing the overload. If required, several crash elements can be arranged in parallel.
