Product descriptionThe Mathey Dearman Sturdi Clamp is a chain clamp designed for alignment and reforming of schedule 40 and lighter wall pipes, as well as elbows, tees, flanges and end caps. One clamp covers a wide diameter range (1–72 in / 33.4–1,828.8 mm) depending on configuration. Available with nickel-plated carbon steel chain or stainless steel chain; jackscrews, jackbars and main block are stainless steel. High-rise jackbars and main block allow reforming on both sides of the weld gap and permit welding around the full pipe circumference with the clamp in place.
Features and Advantages- Precision alignment – Double jackscrews positioned around the outside diameter provide alignment and reforming accuracy to within 0.5 mm for internal or external diameters.
- Reformability – Reforming capability on both sides of the weld joint for schedule 40 pipe; aligns various wall schedules, elbows, tees and fittings.
- Adaptable – Chain design allows alignment and reforming of elbows, tees and fittings not manageable with cage clamps; one chain clamp can replace multiple cage clamps.
- High-rise independent jackbars – ‘High-rise’ double jackscrew jackbars provide extra clearance for welding torch/rod; each jackscrew has independently pivoting feet for uneven surfaces.
- Wide range – Single clamp models cover broad pipe size ranges depending on part configuration.
- Safe – When used with the level and support device (sold separately), elbows, tees and fittings are held securely during alignment.
Included with each Sturdi Clamp- Nickel-plated carbon steel or stainless steel duplex roller chain
- Stainless steel single or double jackscrew jackbars (quantity per specifications)
