The unit forms a calibrated proximity system where each component can be interchanged. It is used for measuring the relative displacement of moving elements in a machine. The system generates voltage or the current proportional to the distance between the target and transducer tip.
This device is specifically suitable for high pressure applications. Its transducer tip can withstand pressure of up to 100 bar and thus is suitable for measuring relative displacement or vibration on submerged pumps and hydraulic turbines. The sensor is also designed for applications where the sensor output region is cluttered.
