Description

Overview
The thicknessGAUGE 3D is a sensor system for inline profile evaluation and 3D thickness measurement of strip and sheet materials. The system pairs a rigid frame with two red-laser profile scanners to capture upper and lower surface profiles and to generate individual profiles as well as combined 3D point clouds for automated analysis.

Inline measurement of coating edges, weld seams, strand profiles and thickness monitoring on production lines.

Installation and calibration
The system is supplied mounted and factory-calibrated. It can be moved between parking and measuring positions; the parking position enables sensor protection and fully automatic recalibration.

Software and computation
Measurements and calculations are automated via configuration files. Optional 3DInspect software allows creation and management of configuration files, selection of measurement parameters and target geometries, point cloud alignment and filtering, region selection and combined analysis workflows.
