Overview Milacron twin screw extruders are offered in twin conical (TC) and twin parallel (TP) screw configurations and are engineered for sustained industrial operation. The TC configuration provides process flexibility with modular options; the TP configuration targets higher output and throughput. These systems deliver high torque with controlled plasticization via high-surface-area, low-shear screw geometries ideal for heat- and shear-sensitive materials. Proprietary screw and barrel coating options increase wear resistance and can reduce life-cycle costs. Milacron supplies modular extrusion systems engineered and manufactured in-house to meet varied processing needs.

Additional Info Screws and barrels are produced in-house to extend component life and minimize downtime. The standard proprietary nitride coating provides increased hardness and wear resistance versus conventional nitride coatings. An optional tungsten-clad barrel lining is available to improve heat transfer. Screws are manufactured from DIN-grade steel and can be finished with chrome plating or carbide encapsulation for abrasive applications. Customized screw profiles can be engineered to optimize specific extrusion processes. The engineering team can handle requests of various sizes, applications and complexities for extruders on the market.
Features Systems include high-capacity gearboxes with rebuild and upgrade options. A range of drive motor systems is available, including TEFC AC vector motors offering easy access for maintenance and energy efficiency greater than 90%. The product line supports multiple extrusion options and benefits from Milacron process-engineering support and evaluation services. Additional offerings include new and rebuilt barrels and screws, pipe heads, dies and downstream equipment to deliver complete extrusion lines.
