IS-B Series - Intrinsically Safe LED Beacon for Hazardous Areas The IS-B Series beacon offers dependable visual signalling in hazardous environments where explosive gases or dusts may be present. Designed for both underground (Group I – Mining) and above-ground (Group II) use, it ensures protection in Zones 0, 1, 2 (gas) and Zones 20, 21, 22 (dust). Its robust construction and IP66 enclosure make it ideal for harsh industrial and outdoor conditions. Equipped with a long-life LED array, the IS-B provides either static or 60 FPM flashing output with low current draw. A time-saving mounting base allows for fast installation without rewiring the beacon head — simply twist and click into place during commissioning. This beacon must be powered through a certified Zener barrier or galvanic isolator, ensuring safe energy levels and compliance in intrinsically safe systems. It is suitable for fire and gas detection systems, process control, general safety alerts and other critical visual notifications in explosive atmospheres.
