The Optris CTlaser P7 pyrometer is designed for precise non-contact temperature measurement of thin plastic materials, covering a broad range from 0 °C to 710 °C. The pyrometers specialized spectral region of 7.9 µm enables accurate readings for thin plastic materials, making it particularly suitable for applications requiring temperature control while producing thin plastic foils.
Featuring a measuring head capable of withstanding temperatures up to 85 °C without additional cooling, the CTlaser P7 ensures reliable performance in industrial environments. Its measuring wavelength of 7.9 µm, coupled with a rapid response time of 150 ms, enhances efficiency in temperature monitoring during various manufacturing processes.
Emissivity, a critical factor in temperature measurement accuracy, is carefully addressed in the CTlaser P7’s design. While plastics with a thickness greater than 0.4 mm and pigmented films exhibit high emissivity in the long-wave LT spectral range (8 µm -14 µm), very thin plastic films pose a challenge due to their transparency. To overcome this, the CTlaser P7 leverages material-specific absorption bands in the IR spectrum, employing narrowband sensitive IR sensors for precise temperature measurement.
Materials such as Fluoroplastic (FEP), Polyimide (PI), Acrylic (PMMA), Polycarbonate (PC), Polyester (PET), and Polyvinyl chloride (PVC or Vinyl) demonstrate the desired properties at 7.9 μm, enabling easy measurement with the CTlaser P7.
