Overview
In jobbing pipe shops, plants and oilfields where time equals money and high power is required, the Oster 12R 'Rapiduction' delivers on-site pipe and bolt threading and cutting operations. Largely produced in the 1940s–1950s, many units remain in service. Blueprints and build lists are available, but there is no official Oster 12R manual; operating guidance can be referenced from the Oster 8R manual. Most replacement parts remain obtainable.

Dark Thread Cutting Oil (OSTO)
Use Oster OSTO dark thread cutting oil to help keep threads cool and reduce friction. OSTO is formulated to extend die life, reduce chip welding and promote grip on the work material during threading. It is reported to have a stable performance and long shelf life.
