Product description
Schaltbau rotary high-voltage disconnect switch series MDR500 is designed for rated voltages up to 1,500 V and thermal continuous currents of up to 500 A per switching chamber. The modular product concept allows single- and multi-pole configurations, providing high flexibility for system integration. It is based on a Schaltbau-patented contact system proven in the MD500 manual disconnect switches. Two integrated auxiliary switches provide reliable feedback of the switching position to a higher-level control. An optional padlockable mechanical interlock protects against unauthorized operation.

Key features

• Ergonomic hand knob: Manual actuator with rotary control enabling secure locking of the operating position; two positions: CLOSED = operating position, OPEN = disconnect
• Patented contact system: Extremely low contact resistance (< 100 µΩ) and very high short-circuit withstand (30,000 A @ 20 ms) for long-term service life; available in 1- and 2-pole versions
• Modularity: Main contact positions (right, top, left) can be configured relative to each other in 90° steps
• Mechanical interlock: Switch can be secured in operating and disconnect positions with an optional padlock to prevent unintended opening or reclosing
• 2 auxiliary switches: Snap-action switches S870 with silver or gold contacts and positive opening for diagnostics and switching-state monitoring
