Description

Product Overview
The Module Temperature Sensor measures the back-of-module temperature in °C using a PT1000 probe placed between the backsheet and EVA layers. Its sensor housing reproduces the thermal transfer behavior of a photovoltaic (PV) module to provide representative temperature readings. The sensor is compatible with the SEVEN Irradiance Sensor Box and is designed for PV plant monitoring in compliance with IEC 60751:2022 and IEC 61724-1:2021.

Working principle
The unit is a temperature transmitter with a PT1000 output, providing measurement values as resistance signals according to PT1000 characteristics. The transmitter supports connection to SEVEN Irradiance Sensor and Sensor Box models via a 5-pin IP67-rated connector for environmental protection. The PT1000 output can be directly interfaced with data loggers, monitoring systems or other acquisition devices with compatible resistance input channels.

Installation
Per IEC 61724-1:2021, install the sensor at the midpoint of the module on the back, positioned on the center of the cell nearest the module midpoint and avoiding cell boundaries. The mounting area must be dry and free of contaminants; dew or moisture can prevent adhesion. Use the supplied 3M® tape to secure the sensor to the module backsheet.
