Product overview
The 3S-MT-PT1000-U is a module temperature sensor that measures photovoltaic module backside temperature in °C using a PT1000 probe placed between backsheet layers with an EVA film. An integrated transducer converts the PT1000 signal to an analog 0–10 V output for direct integration with dataloggers, gateways and PLCs featuring 0–10 V inputs.

What is Module Temperature Sensor?
The sensor monitors the rear-surface temperature of PV modules in degrees Celsius. Because cell temperature affects short-circuit current and open-circuit voltage, accurate module temperature measurement is essential for performance assessment and thermal management of solar plants.

Working principle
A high-precision PT1000 probe senses module temperature. The measurement is processed by an electronic board enclosed in a UV-resistant housing which linearises and transduces the PT1000 signal to an analog 0–10 V output. The device is rated IP67 for outdoor operation.

Installation guidance
Follow IEC 61724-1:2021 placement recommendations: mount the probe at the center of a cell near the module midpoint, avoiding cell boundaries. Apply sensor on a dry, clean area of the backsheet using the supplied 3M® tape. Ensure surface is free from contaminants and take care in cold conditions where dew or residue may hinder adhesion.
