SPIROL’s Model HM Manual Heat Insert Driver provides a cost-effective method of achieving high quality installation of Threaded Inserts into plastic assemblies. To operate the machine, the operator manually places the Insert in the entrance to the hole and simply pulls down on the handle. The heated tip advances, engages the inner diameter of the Insert and applies steady pressure until the Insert is at the proper temperature to soften the plastic and advance into the hole. An internal air spring prevents the operator from being able to install the Insert too quickly to assure optimum flow of plastic into the external features of the Insert and maximise performance of the installed Insert. One or more Inserts can be installed simultaneously at the same or different elevations. The Model HM Manual Heat Insert Driver can install Inserts ranging in size from M2 – M6 metric threads and #2 – ¼ unified threads.
