Compact secondary cleaning of ferrous scrap with the STEINERT SteelMaster Compact
Efficient ballistic magnetic separation of copper-containing composites and non-magnetic contaminants from ferrous scrap
The machine separates strongly magnetic ferrous particles from copper-containing composites, known as meatballs, as well as from non-magnetic contaminants. The separation process makes use of ballistic effects within a magnetic field. This enables you to obtain a low-copper ferrous fraction and improve the quality of your ferrous product for further marketing or downstream processing steps.
As a compact version for lower mass flows and smaller particle sizes, the STEINERT SteelMaster Compact is designed in particular for materials up to approx. 100 mm. This makes the machine ideally suited to ferrous fractions from WEEE, fine-grained incinerator bottom ash and conventional shredder applications. The STEINERT SteelMaster Compact also demonstrates its strengths in smaller
auto-shredder streams as well as in the processing of shredded compressors or shredded meatballs from vertical shredders. Wherever effective secondary cleaning of ferrous concentrates is required, it provides an economical and flexible solution.
The separation process uses ballistic effects within an adjustable permanent magnetic field and the effective range of the magnets can be adapted to the respective sorting task. In addition to the magnetic field, both the belt speed and the separating splitter can be adjusted specifically in order to match the separation effect to the input material. In this way, more than 90% of the copper content can be removed.
