RW Wheel Motor – A Highly Compact Motor The RW wheel motor is a highly compact hydraulic motor. The offset mounting flange enables the attachment of a wheel hub, allowing radial forces to be absorbed through the tapered roller bearings. Applications: Conveyors Metalworking machinery Road construction equipment Mining machinery Food processing equipment Agricultural machinery Special-purpose vehicles, etc. Distributor Valve: RW series motors feature a disc distributor valve: the distributor is separated from the output shaft and is driven via a short cardan shaft. A balance plate compensates for hydraulic forces around the distributor, ensuring high efficiency – even at high pressure – and excellent starting characteristics. Gear Set: Two types of internal gear sets are used: Gerotor (with standard teeth) and Geroler (with rollers mounted on the teeth). The RW series uses the Geroler system. The rollers reduce local loading and minimize tangential reaction forces on the rotor, leading to minimal friction. This ensures longer service life and high efficiency, even under continuous high pressure.
