Permanent magnet DC motors are supplied with IEC unified couplings as standard. Speed regulation is achieved by varying the armature voltage; reversing the rotation direction requires reversing the supply polarity and must be performed only with the armature stationary. Varmec's DC motor range includes multiple series and configurations to suit industrial applications.

Series

• MB - MQ: motors without fan, IP54 protection standard; IP55 or IP65 available on request. Frame sizes: 40, 56, 71, 80. Voltage range: 12–170 V. Power ratings: approx. 0.5–15 kW depending on size and series.
• MBV - MQV: self-ventilated motors, IP54 protection standard; IP55 or IP65 available on request. Frame sizes: 56, 71, 80. Voltage range: 12–170 V. Power ratings: approx. 0.2–1.2 kW.
• DN: motors equipped with tacho generator (dynamo) for speed feedback.

Mounting and options
Motors can be supplied with mounting feet, input flanges and shafts compliant with IEC dimensions. On request, Varmec can customise motors with motor brake, tacho generator, thermal protection, tropicalisation, anodisation, special input flanges, custom painting and factory assembly with gearboxes.
