Speed variators of the VAR series are available in five sizes (2, 5, 10, 20, 30) providing a continuous speed change ratio of 1:5. Each size can be supplied as a variator only, as a variator combined with an IEC B5 motor, or as a combined variator and gear reducer (1 or 2 reduction stages) integrated in a single monolithic casing.

Compatibility and options
The VAR variators with IEC output flange can be coupled with various gearbox types: helical, bevel-helical, shaft-mounted and worm gearboxes. Variators can be supplied complete with IEC B5 motors and can be equipped with proximity sensors for remote speed detection and monitoring.

Operation and control
Speed variation is achieved continuously and smoothly via a manual handwheel with direct position readout. Provision for remote monitoring and speed sensors is available as an option.

Certification
VAR variators can be supplied for use in explosive atmospheres in compliance with ATEX 2014/34/EU, classification II 3D EEx c T135°C.
