The Low Twist X3 unit is an unwinding device that uses an optical sensor system to synchronise package rotation with the loom's weft insertion speed. It is designed to improve weaving of metallized polyester film (for example Lurex) by reducing twist introduced when ribbon yarn is drawn from the package. The Low Twist X3 must be installed downstream of a weft accumulator and connects to the same voltage supply box used by the X2/X3 generation of weft accumulators.
