Product description
The IRO Zero Twist Feeder (ZTF) supplies tape yarns or fibre tows to rapier weaving machines without introducing twist, maintaining constant yarn tension to prevent snarls and twisting during weft insertion.

Compatibility and versions
The ZTF is designed for rapier looms and can be fitted on new CAN-communication machines or retrofitted to older non-CAN machines via a dedicated conversion kit. It is available as a single-channel unit or as a 2C weft-mix version.

How it works
The bobbin is driven by a motor, enabling yarn delivery without twist at speeds matched to the weaving machine. A buffer arm synchronised with the rapier movement unwinds yarn at a continuous speed and supplies the precise length required for each weft insertion. A tension-and-sensor arm maintains constant yarn tension throughout the insertion cycle.
