Product summaryThe SandCat-3000 series comprises unmanaged industrial Gigabit switches and a media converter built for current and future industrial data networks. Devices are specified for reliable operation in harsh environments including industrial sites, maritime installations and trackside applications. The hardware supports 802.1Q long packets and standard industrial Ethernet protocols to ensure compatibility with common automation systems.
The series accepts a wide power input range designed for industrial installations (series design: dual 9.6 to 57.6 VDC; technical specification lists 12–48 VDC nominal). Galvanic separation between all ports, the power supply and chassis screens prevents ground loop currents. The IP21 rating allows installation in locations where condensed water may occur.
Only industrial-grade components are used to deliver high MTBF and long service life. The switch operates over a wide temperature range (-40 to +70 °C / -40 to +158 °F) without moving parts. The product family has been tested to meet EMC, isolation, vibration and shock standards applicable to heavy industrial, maritime and trackside environments.
Link Fault Forward functionality forwards media-failure indication to connected ports to support resilient network topologies. Network diagnostics are simplified by port mirroring and the ability to lock data rate and flow control on all five ports via DIP switches to support legacy Ethernet equipment.
