The rebound chamber uses Mn12 manganese steel liners and a labyrinth seal geometry to direct ricocheting media into a cyclone separator, achieving ~99.5% air-wash separation efficiency and reducing media top-up frequency.
Maintenance & best practices- Keep media clean: remove contaminated shot containing slag, stone or debris to prevent accelerated wear of blades and liners.
- Monitor dust collector airflow (CFM): reduced flow allows dust accumulation in the rebound chamber, degrading shot trajectory and productivity.
- Replace blade sets in matched groups and verify dynamic balance to protect bearings and spindles.
FAQ (selected)- Uneven blast depth on one side — check perimeter rubber seals for wear or tears and re-align the control cage scale plate.
- Maximising liner and blade life — use clean, appropriate-size media; contaminated or stony media drastically increases wear.
- Can it remove >5 mm thick mortar? — Shot blasting is effective for laitance and thin coatings (CSP 3–5). For >5 mm bulk material, remove with a scarifier first and finish with the shot blaster.
