Description

Overview
If you need to lay pipes underground without digging up the road, a directional drilling rig (horizontal directional drilling, HDD) drills a smooth underground pathway and pulls pipes through it. It combines classic oil-industry drilling tools with modern pipe-installation techniques allowing accurate surface steering of the drill bit. Typical operating temperature range: -15°C to +45°C in non-hard-rock soils.

How it works (summary)
The machine drills a pilot bore, uses steering to guide the path from the surface, performs reaming to enlarge the hole as required, and pulls the pipe into the created bore. Suitable for trenchless pipe installation over long distances depending on soil conditions.
