There is an increasing tendency to investigate the behaviour of large constructions under varying load conditions. Examples are: bridges, wind turbines, tower cranes, etc. Usually it is quite inconvenient to apply half- or full straingauge bridges onto such constructions, for which reason mostly single (1/4 bridge) gauges are utilized. This, however, usually implies cumbersome wiring to the inputs of the (remote) measuring amplifiers.
StrainBUSter has been developed to solve these problems by placing the measuring circuit in the direct vicinity of each point of measurement. Here all signal conditioning is done, after which all measured values are being transmitted via a CAN bus to one convenient central place, thus building one decentralized system. In this way, up to 120 measured values can be transmitted very reliably over longer distances.
Each StrainBUSter module has 2 separate input channels. The single straingauge, or the Pt100 sensor, is connected through a 3-wire connection, eliminating cable losses at the input side.

The DiskInterface is the interface used for downloading data and programming the SterilDisk and PasteurDisk dataloggers. It allows the communication between the datalogger adn its management program, the SPD software. It works with a serial (RS232) or USB port.

The 2-channel compact isolators IS pac are equipped with detachable terminals available in screw terminal, cage clamp terminal and insulation cutting terminal versions. Depending on the particular application, the devices snap singly onto DIN rails and can either be centrally supplied from the common power supply (pac-Bus) or simply and conveniently connected to the automation system using teh pac-Carrier.
The pac-Bus supplies the isolators with power and issues line errors occurring in the I.S. inputs and outputs via a floating contact. In addition to this collective messaging system, each individual device signals line errors by means of a red LED and an indicator contact.
With its choice of 8 or 16 slots, the pac-Carrier makes for an elegant automation system integration solution. Connecting to diverse automation systems is made easier by system-specific circuit board adapters equipped with matching plugs.
With the IS pac system also system specific solutions in any possible constellation from engineering to cabinet manufacturing are available.

The LMU 212 Load Monitoring Unit completes Magtrol's range of "Load-Force-Weight" products, by providing an amplifier for strain gauge bridges intended for load measurement.
The LMU 212 incorporates a strain gauge bridge input as well as a voltage input, allowing a summation of the two signals when needed. It can be supplied at 115 V AC/ 230 V AC or at 20, 32 V DC at the customer's choice. With regard to the output signals available, the LMU 212 provides 2 relay outputs, 1 current output and 1 voltage output. The unit allows 2 alarms setting outputs particularly usefull for load / overload survey on cranes and other lifting devices
A built-in self-test system detects any short circuits or signal line failures, thus allowing its use in security systems.
The integrated test function (B.I.T.E.) enables the user to simulate a fictitious load. At each call of the B.I.T.E. function the user will be able to check on the various outputs (voltage UO/P and current IO/P) as well as on the relays REL1 and REL2 that the load monitoring unit reacts to this fictitious load as if it would be a real load.
The LMU 212 is readily connected via "DIP switches" or jumpers and does not require any soldering, which is a great advantage for setting up on site.

DESCRIPTION
Each Instrument-ClassTM DSCA module provides a single channel of isolated analog input or output. Various input modules accept analog voltage or current signals from all types of field sensors and sources and filter, isolate, amplify, linearize, and convert these input signals to high-level analog outputs suitable for use in data acquisition, test and measurement, and control systems.
