The Bestact reed element is a highly reliable, broad control range reed switch that when used and implemented in various application products provides a user or manufacturing operation the utmost in uptime and throughput. Its broad control range allows a user to select one switch for any control load from TTL logic to fractional DC horsepower, thereby decreasing the various types of control devices needed for spare parts allocation while ensuring the same reliability levels.

A reed switch consists of two ferromagnetic and specially shaped contact blades (reeds) positioned in a hermetically sealed glass tube with a gap between them and in a protective atmosphere. The plated contact surfaces are isolated from the outside environment, which protects the contacts from contamination. Reed switches are available as form A (normally open) and form C (changeover), and are operated using a magnetic field generated by either a permanent magnet or current-carrying coil. The features that make the reed switch a valuable tool include compact size, low weight, quick response time, long life and low cost. Some common applications are: reed reays, automotive sensors, robotics sensors, security sensors and toys and games. They are also available in moulded packages affording protection from damage and in surface mount styles.

The Candy Switch is used by thousands of equipment manufacturers and users world-wide to control circuits during a machine cycle. This Candy Switch can vary the "on-off" time cycle as well as the length of "on" dwell time. Each electrically controlled machine component can be synchronized to the demands of the parent machine without custom designed cams or expensive electronic devices.
The Candy Switch is available in both solid-state and electro-mechanical models. A variety of cams and switching mechanisms allow the Candy Switch to accomodate most every industrial application. The solid-state models provide precise, repeatable timing control for over 100 million cycles.
Solid State Model
For applications that require higher switching speeds and greater accuracy, Candy offers a complete line of solid-state switches. This line employs a board mounted photo scanner which reads a reflective pattern from a printed cam.
The N cam is the standard cam for most solid-state models. Alternative cams are available with different operating characteristics as described to the lower right.

General Description
A Quasi-Resonant Converter generally shows lower EMI and higher power conversion efficiency than a conventional hard-switched converter with a fixed switching frequency. The FSQ-series is an integrated Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) controller and SenseFET specifically designed for quasi-resonant operation and Alternating Valley Switching. The PWM controller includes an integrated fixed-frequency oscillator, Under-Voltage Lockout, Leading- Edge Blanking, optimized gate driver, internal softstart, temperature-compensated precise current sources for a loop compensation, and self-protection circuitry. Compared with a discrete MOSFET and PWM controller solution, the FSQ-series can reduce total cost, component count, size, and weight; while simultaneously increasing efficiency, productivity, and system reliability. This device provides a basic platform that is well suited for cost-effective designs of quasi-resonant switching flyback converters
Features
- Optimized for Quasi-Resonant Converter
- Low EMI through Variable Frequency Control and AVS
- High-Efficiency through Minimum Voltage Switching
- Narrow Frequency Variation Range over Wide Load and Input Voltage Variation
- Advanced Burst-Mode Operation for Low Standby Power Consumption
- Simple Scheme for Sync Voltage Detection
- Pulse-by-Pulse Current Limit
- Various Protection functions: Overload Protection, Over-Voltage Protection, Abnormal Over-Current Protection (AOCP), Internal Thermal Shutdown with Hysteresis, Output Short Protection
- Under-Voltage Lockout with Hysteresis
- Internal Start-up Circuit
- Internal High-Voltage Sense FET (650V)
- Built-in Soft-Start (15ms)

Features/Benefits:
- surface mount relay
- for broadband and RF Applications to 2.5GHz
- Low Insertion Loss
- Very High Isolation in a 2GHz Bypass Mode
- Robust Design and Hermetic Seal Ensure Long Lifetime and High MTBF
Description:
The GRF172 surface-mount Centigrid® relay is an ultraminiature, hermetically sealed, armature relay for 2.5 GHz RF applications. Its low profile height (.330") and .100" grid spaced terminals make it an ideal choice where extreme packaging density and/or close PC board spacing are required.
The GRF172 features a unique ground shield that isolates and shields each lead to ensure excellent contact-to-contact and pole-to-pole isolation. This ground shield provides a ground interface that results in improved high-frequency performance as well as parametric repeatability. The GRF172 extends performance advantages over similar RF devices that simply offer formed leads for surface mounting.
