Suppliers of mechanical seals are used for the sealing of rotating shafts against a stationary housing, e.g. in pumps and agitators. The stationary" part of the seal is usually located at the housing, the rotating" part is fixed on the shaft. The high-precision face-machined sliding faces rotate axially in opposition. The sliding faces are pressed against each other by means of spring force, thus preventing the opening of the seal. The seal faces are statically sealed against the housing and the shaft by secondary professional seals (O-rings). With the entry of the pumped medium into the minimal sealing gap a lubricating film is generated and the sealing effect is thus obtained.
The design, arrangement and combination of materials of the seal is basically determined by pressure, temperature, speed of rotation and quality of the pumped medium. Shaft diameters of 5...500 mm, pressures from 10 torr ....250 bar, temperatures from -200°C... +450°C and sliding velocities up to 150 m/s limit the operating range of mechanical seals. Additional seal supply systems or buffer fluid systems may be required, dependent on the mode of operation, the quality of the medium and the seal arrangement.

Mechanical seals manufacturers are available as: single, double complete with pumping ring, single with V-ring, single and double professional seals capable for dry running.
All of these seals are suitable for DIN and ANSI type flanges, which have very limited radial and axial dimensions and are ideal for pumps, industrial mixers, professional fans and other equipment.
The cartridge assembly minimises installation problems to a minimum and is suitable for most applications.
There is also a version available with a thicker shaft sleeve and larger internal clearances designed for professional fitting to equipment and industrial stirrers that are submitted usually to substantial mechanical stresses, oscillation, vibration and run-out.

The design features are single industrial seal, unbalance, independent of the direction of retation, single spring and elastomer bellows. The bellows is not subjected to any torsional stress and its ingenious design incorporates several functions, as seal face carrier, secondary sealing element and drive collar. The seal face is driven through the spring and “L”-rings. There are not bonded joints and all the face materials are interchangeable without having to modify any dimensions. Highly recommended for duties with media containing solids e.g. in waste water and sewage applications.

Controller-One
CONTROLLER-ONE is a industrial seal set of variable geometry, planned and produced to answer the request for a secure product, reliable and corresponding to the regulations concerning the reduction of the fugitive emissions of VOC and HAP. In the middle are three graphite rings with a conical torso configuration of very low density "activated" by two graphite rings with a conical torso configuration at a different angle and at high density. All that is contained by two, GR8807 Incobraid® rings, as wiper and Anti-Extrusion Rings: here is the Controller-One configuration! The innovative conical torso configuration of the graphite rings with different density that allows a great radial expansion already with modest torque loads. It fully utizes the elastic properties, reducing the friction strength exercised by the gasket on the stem during the movement, also decreasing damage sustained by the gasket itself, allowing a reduction of the effort requested by the actuator specifications in the motion act. The great radial expansion capacities of the Controller-One is able to execute with success of the re-torque required to compensate the loss of weight of the gasket caused by the scratching of the stem, and keeping an unchanged seal efficiency troughout a long period of time.

Unique Spiral Groove Technology
Patented John Professional crane spiral grooves are machined into the mating ring faces. A pressurized suitable inert gas is injected between the professional seals. As the shaft rotates, gas flows into the tip of the spiral groove and is compressed at the sealing dam, the ungrooved portion of the mating ring. At the sealing dam, gas is expanded. The resultant film pressure gives an opening force greater than the closing force, thus separating the faces.
The Type 2800 spiral groove continues to operate, even if barrier gas pressure is momentarily lost, maintaining the gas film between the barrier gas and the process
