Four point contact bearings are single row angular contact ball bearings and therefore require significantly less space in an axial direction than double row designs.
The bearings comprise solid outer rings, split inner rings and ball and cage assemblies with brass or polyamide cages. Due to the two-piece inner rings, a large number of balls can be accommodated. The halves of the inner ring are matched to the specific bearing and must not be interchanged with those of bearings of the same size. The outer ring with the ball and cage assembly can be fitted separately from the halves of the inner ring.

High temperature bearings
Fitted with a steel sheet cage, the F600 range bearings receive a specific surface treatment making them more resistant to oxidation and thermal shocks, and allowing operations between 200°C and 350°C.
Suitable for slow handling at high temperatures, they require a rotating speed of less than 50 RPM and moderate loads. Radial clearance was increased to compensate for thermal expansion deviations between the 2 rings and for neighbouring component distortions.
The special treatments of the F600 series can be applied on request to other bearing symbols and types (e.g. spherical roller bearings). Please contact SNR's technical departments.
Applications examples: oven carriages, transport rolls, conveyors, porcelain works, glass making, foundries, cement plants, brick plants…

Conventional all steel bearings limit design potential as technology requirements roll forward at a fantastic rate. Ceramic Hybrid bearings offer a long list of characteristics far superior to that of conventional all-steel bearings.
Ceramic hybrids are a mixture of steel races and ceramics balls. The most common ceramic ball used, because of its hardness, is the Silicon Nitride (Si3N4) ball, although in certain environments either Zirconia (ZrO2) or Alumina Oxide (Al2O3) can be used. Ceramic hybrids offer higher RPMs due to the non-porous ball surface, longer life due to having a greater Rockwell hardness than steel and decreased weight as a result of being 2/3 the weight of steel. Ceramic hybrids are ideally suited to any application looking to achieve increased speed, durability and heat dissipation.
Stainless Steel Series: Stainless Steel resists corrosion in atmospheric, pure water environments as well as most acids, alkaline solutions, and chlorine environments. The easy cleaning ability of stainless makes it the first choice for strict hygiene conditions, such as dental tools, hospitals, kitchens and other food processing envoronments.
Ultra Seals Series: The Ultra Seal is a non-contact, frictionless seal that is placed beneath the metal shields. Say goodbye to dirt, dust and other contaminants without any increased drag. These bearings are maintainence free and lubed for life.
Ceramic Hybrid Series: Ceramic is the new Holy Grail! Its lighter, smoother, stiffer, harder, corrosion resistant, and electrically resistant. These fundamental characteristics allow for a wide range of performance enhancements in bearings.

Ball Bearings
Ball bearings are machinery components, which comprise an outer ring, inner ring, balls, retainers, shields and snap rings. Miniature bearings and small-sized ball bearings have up to 30mm in external diameter. Essential to high-precision rotary components, ball bearings determine rotational accuracy.
Bearing types include Radial Ball Bearings (Deep Groove and Angular Contact) and Thrust Ball Bearings. Radial bearings are designed to carry both radial and axial (thrust) loads, while thrust bearings are designed for pure thrust loads only. Many different configurations are available for ball bearings.
Miniature Bearings
Our miniature bearings range in sizes from .1181 to 1.000 inch O.D. (3mm to 26mm), and are available in inch and metric sizes.
Miniature bearings and instrument bearings are single row bearings. The construction of these miniature bearings enables them to carry moderate radial and thrust loads at low operating torque while providing high performance within a small envelope design. Miniature bearings and instrument bearings are typically available in both stainless steel for those applications requiring corrosion resistance and chrome for maximum fatigue life.
Minebea manufactures more than 8,500 different types of miniature and small-sized bearings, most of which have external diameters of 22mm or less.

POM Polyoxymethylene can be used in tem-peratures ranging from -60°C to +100°C . The high surface strength is only surpassed by a few materials. POM shows good sliding roperties and high resistance to wear and tear because of the high strength and smooth surface. There is a very low risk of stress cracks. POM (Copolymere) exhibits a high thermal stability and a high resistance to chemicals (high resistance to hydrolysis).

Fafnir radial ball bearings use a versatile design that permits relatively high-speed operation under a range of load conditions. Bearings consist of an inner and outer ring with a cage containing a complement of precision balls.
The standard Conrad-type bearing has a deep-groove construction capable of handling radial and axial loads from either direction. The maximum-capacity type supports primarily radial loading.
An extremely wide variety of sizes is available in extra-light to heavy series. Various shield and seal configurations help protect internal bearing components and retain lubricants.

Deep groove ball bearings are versatile, self-retaining bearings with solid outer rings, inner rings and ball and cage assemblies. These products are of simple design, durable in operation and easy to maintain; they are available in single and double row designs and and in open and sealed variants. Due to the production technology used, open bearings can still have turned recesses on the outer ring for seals or shields.
|
|
By virtue of its internal geometry, the self-aligning ball bearing is capable of accommodating small angular misalignments between the shaft and housing. This is achieved by using two rows of balls that run in parallel inner ring raceways and a full width, spherical outer ring raceway.
Caution must be exercised when thrust loads have to be accommodated as these bearings have very little axial load carrying capacity.
A tapered bore for mounting using an adapter sleeve is common and, as such, these bearings can be used in place of spherical roller bearings in plummer block applications.
NSK can supply a range of self-aligning ball bearings in metric and inch sizes from 5mm to 130mm bore.

Self-aligning ball bearings
With double ball rows and a spherical raceway in the outer ring, self-aligning ball bearings can compensate for installation errors or shaft misalignment.
The SNR double-row self-aligning ball bearings are useful for applications requiring high rotating speeds while exercising moderate radial, and moderate or low axial loading.
SNR proposes an extensive range of self-aligning ball bearings, available with or without seals. Certain Series are fitted with an increased width inner ring (11200, 11300 Series) for easier fitting on shaft.
Technical data:
• Common dimension bearings are fitted with a metallic or synthetic cage (maximum continuous operating temperature = 120°C). Large size bearings are equipped with steel sheet or machined brass cages.
• 2200 and 2300 Series bearings can receive seals.
• Clearance : normal, increased (C3).
Application examples : Long-shaped and flexible shafts, standard industrial applications, chemistry, agriculture…

Self-aligning ball bearings are double row, self-retaining units comprising solid outer rings with a concave raceway, inner rings with a cylindrical or tapered bore and ball and cage assemblies. The bearings are available in open and sealed versions.
|
|
Radial insert ball bearings are single row, rady-to-fit units comprising a solid outer ring, an inner ring extended on one or both sides, cages made from plastic or sheet steel and P, R, L or T seals. Bearings with an inner ring extended on both sides undergo less tilting of the inner ring and therefore run more smoothly.
The outer ring has a crowned or cylindrical outside surface. In conjunction with an INA housing matched to the bearing type, bearings with a crowned outside surface compensate for shaft misalignments; see Compensation of misalignments.
They are located on the shaft by means of an eccentric locking collar, grub screws in the inner ring, an adapter sleeve, drive slot or fit. Radial insert ball bearings are particularly easy to fit, suitable for drawn shafts of grade h6 to h9 and, with a few exceptions, can be relubricated.
