Linear Solenoids and Rotary Solenoids
Specializing in Special
We Fit Our Product to Your System
We have all been there. The new design is perfect with one exception. The "off the shelf" product just won't cut it. In solenoid terms, it can be for a number of reasons. The force is too low. The mounting or interface won't work. The voltage range is incorrect. Or maybe the plating or materials are insufficient for the environment. This is where your special needs demand a special product. GW Lisk makes custom solenoids to meet your specific needs.
The concept is simple. A coil of copper magnet wire is placed inside a steel housing with end iron and a steel armature. An electrical current is applied to the coil and a magnetic field is created, moving the armature to close a preset air gap. With varied geometry, that linear force can be turned into a rotational torque. That is where the simple ends and the customization begins.

DESCRIPTION:
In the reversible linear solenoid the stroke is made by electromagnetic forces. The end of the stroke in one sense is the beginning in the other.
(Made according to the German norm VDE0580 and the French NFC79300).
The terms used are according to ETN technical explanations. The magnetic force values (FM) depending on the stroke are obtained in the following conditions: Ambient temperature = 35º C Coil stabilized to its work tempearture. Supply voltage 90% of the standard. Solenoid in horizontal position The effective force is obtained of the magnetic force (FM), adding or substracting the weight of the core.
- When the solenoid pulls upwards: Effective force = Magnetic force - weight of the core
- When the solenoid pulls downwards: Effective force = Magnetic force + weight of the core
- When the solenoid pulls in horizontal position: Effective force = Magnetic Force
Duty cycle calcule (ED%) = ( Energised time/ energised time+ off time) x 100

Magnetic grid. It is a group of magnetic tubes placed parallel forming bars through which the material to be debugged should pass. The magnetic bars can be single, double, etc, round or square shaped, according to the duct where it must be installed.
|
|
Grid magnet for bulk materials
Permanently magnetic grid magnets can be supplied in circular, rectangular or square format and are therefore universally applicable. Ferrous particles are filtered out from bulk material as they pass through the magnetic grid.
Advantages
Powerful magnets remove even low magnetised stainless steel particles from the product flow.

An electromagnetic suction cup makes it possible to maintain a device (interdependent of a polar plate) in a given position and to release it by simple electrical signal.
In the case of a suction cup with emission of current, the maintenance is ensured not under tension by a permanent magnet and the unlocking of the polar plate is caused by the powering of the reel which involves the demagnetization of the magnet.
Applications
Fire protection
Maintenance and release of fire doors, opening emergency exits of trap doors of smoke clearing, valves of ventilation...
Industrial use
Locking or unlocking, access control, maintenance or gripping of parts...

Presentation
An electromagnetic suction cup makes it possible to maintain a device (interdependent of a polar plate) in a given position and to release it by simple electrical signal. In the case of a suction cup with rupture of current, the maintenance is ensured by the food of the reel and it is the cut of the food which causes the unlocking of the polar plate.
Applications
Fire protection
Maintenance and release of fire doors, opening emergency exits of trap doors of smoke clearing, valves of ventilation...
Industrial use
Locking or unlocking, access control, maintenance or gripping of parts...

Lisk provides custom rotary solenoids based on two different technologies. Whether you need the high shock resistence of the Radial Armature Rotary or the superior torque performance of the Cam Armature Rotary, we can make a solenoid that is right for your application.
Cam Armature Rotary
The Cam Armature Rotary relies on efficient design to provide superior torque performance. Single ball design eliminates the "Out of Sync" problem of multi-ball designs. Up to 180 degree rotaion.
Up to 50 in-lb (5.65 N-m) of intermittent duty carry torque.
Up to 50 in-lb (5.65 N-m) of continuous duty hold torque.
Zero axial motion.
1 million cycle life.
Sizes from 1.0 to 4.0 inches in diameter.
Radial Armature Rotary
The Radial Armature Rotary is the solenoid of choice for high shock and vibration environments.
Designs available with 30, 45, and 70 degrees of rotation.
Up to 25 in-lb of intermittent duty carry torque.
Excellent resistance to shock and vibration.
Zero axial motion.
10 million cycle life.
Sizes from 0.8 to 4.0 inches in diameter.
Internal return springs available.

DC single direction linear solenoids are the universal, inexpensive
answer for precision engineering and industrial applications as
well as for locking/latching requirements.
They can be installed in any position. Push or pull actuation is
possible. However, the force transfer should be in the axial direction
only; lateral loads increase the wear on the bearings.
Specifications with or without return spring possible. Optionally monostable or bistable operation method possible.
Standard voltage: 24 V DC/ 205 V DC
Standard duty cycle: 100 %
Stroke length: 3 - 30 mm
