Single and modular multiple foot switches PA, PX and PC series
Pizzato Elettrica extends its foot switches offer by introducing a version with additional metal protection, ideal for hard work environment, suited for safety shoes and provided with hole for carrying rod.
Furthermore it has been extended the coloring range for plastic protections, now available in yellow, red, grey, blue and black.
Pizzato Elettrica single foot switches are available in numerous versions and they introduce a particular characteristic of combination.
Using the joining kits (patented) it is possible to connect different single foot switches or to join them to button boxes.
The joining kits offer a strong mechanical connection and at the same time they create a sealed passage for the wires between the foot switches.

Food switches are mounted on machines and plants in cases where operation using the hands is not possible. They are used to start and stop operations and production processes.
Depending on the environmental conditions and mechanical duty, differing versions of food switches are used. The robust GF and GFS range switches are generally used in the engineering industry, e.g. on presses, punching and bending machines as well as in sheet-steel processing. Applications for the plastic KF range switches include use on laboratory apparatus, in the electro-medical area and on textile machinery.
Design and mode of operation:
All the foot switches are available in versions with multible pedals. GFS range switches are mounted with a shield to protect against unintentional actuation. GF and GFS range switches are mounted with slow or snap action or Hall sensors. GF-Ex and GFS-Ex range switches are EEx approved under the Certificate of Conformity PTB Ex-89.C.1051. The Ex 13 contact block carries the designation EEx d IIC T6.

600 SERIES - INDUSTRIAL CONTROL
Industrial Explosion Proof foot switch Series 600 offers added environmental protection against water and oil, through the addition of sealing 0-rings on the pivot rod and between the cover and base. This is accomplished by increasing the thickness of the housing walls, without negating the integrity of the metal to metal contact required to qualify as explosion proof. The same specifications apply for the 600 Series as detailed above for the 500 Series, except for a modest increase in weight.
500 SERIES - INDUSTRIAL CONTROL
Nonsparking cast aluminum housing. Aluminum full guard with integral base plate painted Alert Orange. All models supplied with a 3/4"-14 N.P.T. threaded rigid metal conduit entry and mounting provisions in the base plate. The two pedal model is supplied with a divider bar between pedals which helps prevent accidental operation of both pedals at one time.

The IEC 60601-1 describes the general safety requirements for foot controls for dental applications. The special features of foot controls for these applications: Use of multi-function elements, »joypad« for adjustment of the chair position; revolution control via lever or foot pedal; protective/carrying handle with emergency-stop function; protection class up to IP X8 for operating applications (class AP); actuating elements in different variations.

For the actuation of high frequency surgery devices, foot-operated control devices are applied. The requirements for these control devices are prescribed in EN 60601-1, as well as in EN 60601-2-2. Foot controls for this application field are characterised by defined requirements for the protection class, as well as mechanical stability. Electrostatic charging must be avoided. The requirements for class AP (anaesthesia approved) might also be relevant. In this case the foot controls are gas-proof encapsulated (zone M). The main actuating elements are a yellow pedal (activation »cutting«) and a blue pedal (activation »coagulating«).

Medical personnel in doctors' surgeries and operating theatres literally have their hands full for much of the time, and for this reason foot-operated switches are often called for. steute has successfully specialised in this complex field of medical technological applications, offering, in addition to a wide range of standard modular products, a wealth of customer-specific actuators for medical devices and equipment. Some of these switches are extremely complex. They ful-fil the highest demands regarding ergonomy and availability.
Our actuators fulfil all the normative requirements made of medical products and all bear the label "approved medical product". steute's success in this highly specialised field is due to a combination of close cooperation with our customers and best quality production. steute's medical range also includes innovative technologies, such as wireless switchgear using a Bluetooth signal transmission protocol especially modified for medical technology.

Besides the IEC 60601-1 the IEC 60601-2-22 must also be observed for foot-operated control devices for diagnostic and therapeutical laser devices . This standard demands, for example, high requirements for mechanical stability. It requires protection against unintentional actuation and prescribes specific actuating forces. Besides this, certain protection classes – depending on the appropriate application – are determined according to IEC 60529. A mainly redundant design of the switching elements, as well as details concerning the cable and its entry at the foot-operated control device, also belong to the requirements.

The Varior Potentiometer foot switch was designed as a low cost foot control where a non-watertight housing is suitable. Four standard prewired 2 Watt linear models are available. The momentary models have a spring return pedal action, and the maintained models have adjustable friction pads. Maximum resistance must be specified when ordering. The foot switch has a drawn steel housing with black cover, complete with full treadle pad and nonskid base pad.
Also available in our heavy duty Hercules housing:

This foot switch is designed for use with variable speed motor drives and is available in selected 2 watt linear values. Specify the maximum resistance you want. Depressing the treadle rotates the potentiometer from zero to the selected maximum resistance shown below. By wiring to the third terminal it goes from the maximum resistance to zero. The treadle is spring loaded and returns to the normal position when the foot pressure is removed. A SPDT auxiliary switch contact rated at 15 Amps 125-250 VAC can be added to the control. The auxiliary switch will operate at the beginning of the treadle stroke. On special order, up to 3 SPDT switches can be added and adjusted for operation at any point of the treadle stroke. Details on switch size, weight, full shields and construction are the same as for the Hercules foot switches. "OX" Shield available
