Model SB
The most widely used series. Used for heavy loads since the spherical contact area has a large width. The outer ring is split at two points, enabling the inner ring to be accommodated.
Model SA1
This type of Spherical Plain Bearing is widely used in Europe. The outer ring is split at one point, and the width and thickness are smaller than model SB. Thus, this model can be used in small space.

RBC has been a pioneer in spherical plain bearing technology since
inventing the fractured outer race design many years ago. Since that
time, RBC has continued to introduce industry leading innovations such
as high misalignment, angular contact, extended inner ring, tapered
bore, and extended lubrication groove spherical plain bearing designs.
These advanced products are used wherever pivoting, high load bearing
applications are found. Most typically, RBC spherical plain bearings
are employed in hydraulic cylinder rod ends, vehicle suspensions,
heavy equipment articulated joints, and other severe duty uses.
Industries served include off-highway mobile construction equipment,
large agricultural machinery, mining equipment, forestry products, and
other large equipment requiring bearings that provide misalignment
capabilities while carrying high loads.

Description of bearing types
Male, female or spherical bearings are ready-to-use mechanical components, based on the journal bearing principle.
These components are used in mechanical construction to transmit static or dynamic forces at different angles.
Male and female bearings are sometimes called tips or ends.
Spherical bearings are sometimes just called bearings.
The design of bearing components is governed by the DIN / ISO 12240 standard, which also specifies the overall and interface dimensions and with neighbouring mechanical components.
Bearing components can be self-lubricating or fitted with grease nipples.
Spherical bearings supplement ball bearings or other casings in slow movements. They are also ale to withstand high loadings because of the larger surfaces in contact..
The body of spherical bearings can be made from various materials: standard steel, high grade steel, stainless steel or aluminium

Radial spherical plain bearings
Radial spherical plain bearings comprise inner and outer rings with maintenance-free sliding layers of ELGOGLIDE®, PTFE composite or PTFE-bronze film. They can support slight axial forces as well as radial forces and are suitable for alternating dynamic loads. Sealed spherical plain bearings are protected against contamination and spray water by lip seals. Large spherical plain bearings of d = 320 mm and above belong to the premium grade X-life.
Axial spherical plain bearings
Axial spherical plain bearings comprise shaft and housing locating washers with ELGOGLIDE®. They are preferably used to support axial forces and are suitable as support or base bearings. Large spherical plain bearings of d = 220 mm and above belong to the premium grade X-life.

IKOSpherical Bushings are self-aligning spherical plain bushings that have inner and outer rings with spherical sliding surfaces, and can take a large radial load and a bi-directional axial load at the same time. There are many types of Spherical Bushings, but they are basically divided into steel-on-steel types and maintenance-free types according to the kind of sliding surfaces. Steel-on-steel Spherical Bushings have inner and outer rings of high carbon chromium bearing steel, of which sliding surfaces are phosphate-treated and then dry-coated with molybdenum disulfide (MoS2). They can, therefore, operate with low torque, and have excellent wear resistance and large load capacity. They are especially suitable for applications where there are alternate loads and shock loads. They have wide applications mainly in industrial and construction machinery. Maintenance-free Spherical Bushings consist of an outer ring which has a special PTFE liner reinforce with copper alloy meshes on the sliding surface, and a spherical inner ring of which sliding surface has a hard chromium plating. Creep deformation due to compressive load is small, and wear resistance is superior. Thus, they are maintenance-free and can be used for extended periods of time without re-lubrication. They are especially suitable in cased where fixed directional loads are applied and are used mainly in food processing machines and construction machinery and in other applications in which the use of oil is undesirable or lubrication is not possible.
