Control valves takes pride of place in SOMAS product line. They find use in virtually all industries. Many SOMAS valve types are adapted for use as control valves, the ball segment valve being one. Its design provides ideal properties for a control valve.

The butterfly valve is also an excellent control valve if its operating arc is limited to 0˚- 60˚, allowing this type of valve to function in the best way possible.

The ball valve can also be used for control applications, but the ball segment and butterfly valves are more common.
Backlash-free control valves

An extremely important design parameter for a control valve is the coupling between shaft and actuator. SOMAS actuators offers a patented backlash-free transmission friction coupling to eliminate any backlash between valve and actuator. A backlash-free coupling between actuator and positioner is the finishing touch on our control valves.
