Description

Product Details Applications: - Steam, gas, hydraulic turbines - Diesel and gas engines - Compressors General Description: Brüel & Kjær Vibro speed vibration sensors (or Velocimeters) operate on the electrodynamic principle and are used to measure the absolute bearing vibration of machines. Speed is the rate of change of displacement over time, measured in mm/s or in/s. These sensors measure mechanical vibrations in rotating machines, within a frequency range of 1 Hz to 2,000 Hz. The product range is extensive, ensuring the best solution for your application. - Used in industrial machines for measuring: - Absolute casing vibrations - Absolute bearing vibrations Coordinated Speed Sensor Solutions: The resonance frequencies of the speed sensors are 8 Hz or 15 Hz depending on their construction characteristics. Thanks to electronic linearization of the respective frequency range, it is possible to measure vibrations well below these resonance frequencies with high accuracy. The VSI-1xx and VSI-2xx speed sensors are particularly suitable for measurements on slow-rotating machines. They cover a wide range of applications such as monitoring turbines, fans, pumps, and generators. Operating Principle: - The sensor housing is mounted on the measured object. The sensor magnet is suspended on a membrane (spring) that moves through a wire coil. Due to vibration, the wire coil moves through the magnetic field of the permanent magnet and generates (induces) a voltage signal proportional to the vibration (speed). Applications: - Absolute casing vibration - In combination with a trigger measurement: vector measurement (amplitude and phase) Advantages: - Robust construction - High sensitivity at low frequencies - High output signal with low internal resistance - Simple mounting - No external power supply required Requirements: - Upper frequency limit below 2 kHz - Resonance frequency at 8 Hz / 15 Hz; linearization required - Some types are mounted vertically, others horizontally - Relatively large size Features: - Selection of the appropriate speed sensor for the application from a wide variety of types for: – high temperatures – explosive and hazardous areas – underwater applications - High suitability for industrial use thanks to the stainless steel housing: – oil, water, and dustproof – low sensitivity to disruptive factors – suitable for use in chemically aggressive environments – low sensitivity to external magnetic fields due to special construction - Simple mounting thanks to the central thread and technically adapted installation accessories, cable, and protective conduit - Easy connection to measuring instruments as the active speed sensor does not require power supply and delivers a high output voltage with low internal resistance Technical Specifications / Features: - Frequency range: 1 Hz to 2,000 Hz - Resonance frequencies: 8 Hz or 15 Hz depending on model - Suitable for slow-rotating machines - Robust stainless steel housing - Oil, water, and dustproof - High output signal, low internal resistance - No external power supply required - Mounting: vertical or horizontal depending on type
