Description

Overview
  • On-line, continuous, real-time, contactless measurement on a conveyor belt.
  • Designed to improve yield and quality control in industrial processes; reduces energy and raw material use — quick ROI.

Measured constituents / Applications
  • Humidity
  • Fat
  • Protein
  • Collagen

Advantages
Simultaneous measurement of two constituents using near-infrared absorption spectroscopy. Contactless, fast and continuous measurements (up to 1 measurement every 33 ms). Measurement spot up to 70 mm.
  • Insensitive to granulometry, color, height variations and ambient light.
  • Easy to install and configure.
  • Optical cleaning by air blowing system.
  • Automatic product presence detection.
  • Optional LED source (NIRLED) with very long lifetime.
  • Stand-alone sensor for simple integration.
  • Low cost with rapid return on investment (typically < 1 year).

Working principle
The system operates by near-infrared absorption spectroscopy: an infrared source illuminates the sample through interferential filters selecting useful wavelengths. Backscattered light is collected by a parabolic mirror and focused on a detector. The constituent content is deduced by analyzing measured spectral values and applying calibration models.
