Protected silver coating offers a higher surface reflectivity than the enhanced aluminum coating. It provides an average reflection of approximately 95% in the visible wavelength range. This coating is a hybrid shelf life. The silver layer is protected both underneath and above with dielectric layers which minimizes tarnishing and allows cleaning by normal laboratory methods.
