Description
Cylindrical lens focuses light only in one dimension. It can also transform a point image into a line image or charging the height of an image without affecting its width. There are two circumference shapes, rectangular and circular.
These lenses are used in applications that require one dimensional shaping of a light source. A typical application is to use a single cylindrical lens to turn a collimated laser into a line generator.
