Description

Product Overview
The BBUAF is an ultrasonic marine anti-fouling system for vessels and offshore installations. It includes a four-channel control module, ultrasonic transducers (flat or pipe-mount), connecting cables, adhesive fixing rings or pipe adapters and mounting accessories. The system emits adaptive 19.5–60 kHz pulsed vibrations through hull or pipe structures to reduce initial adhesion of algae, barnacles and other fouling organisms. It is designed for continuous preventive operation and must be installed on clean surfaces.

System Components
  • Four-channel intelligent control module
  • Flat-mount and pipe-mount ultrasonic transducers
  • Standard 5 m connection cables (extendable)
  • Flat fixing rings and pipe adapter brackets
  • Installation adhesive and mounting accessories
  • Power protection components

Key Features
  • Adaptive pulse operation: 19.5–60 kHz
  • Four-channel control module, rated power 200 W
  • Approx. 50 W average per transducer
  • Reference coverage up to 20 m² per transducer (installation dependent)
  • IP65 control module / IP68 transducers
  • AC 100–240 V or DC 12–24 V (with adapted module)
  • Flat bonded and pipe-adapter mounting; non-penetrating on hull structures
  • Continuous 24-hour preventive operation
  • Cable runs extendable up to 80 m

Transducer and Mounting Options
  • Flat-mount transducer — Dimensions: Φ115 × 88 mm (including fixing ring); Installation: adhesive-bonded fixing ring; Typical location: flat hull sections, sea chests, flat substrates
  • Pipe-mount transducer — Dimensions: 130 × 80 × 106 mm (including adapter bracket); Installation: pipe-diameter specific adapter bracket; Typical location: seawater pipes, filters, cooling-water pipelines

Operating Principle
The control module generates pulsed drive signals which the transducers convert into mechanical vibration transmitted through hull or pipe materials. Continuous microscopic vibration disrupts early attachment conditions for fouling organisms and helps extend cleaning intervals. The system is preventive: surfaces with established heavy fouling must be cleaned prior to installation. Effective coverage depends on substrate material, structural thickness, mounting position, obstacles and number of transducers installed.

Typical Applications
  • Commercial vessels, fishing vessels, yachts and workboats
  • Sea chests and seawater inlets
  • Seawater cooling pipelines and filters
  • Submerged structures near propellers
  • Offshore wind and marine engineering platforms
  • Deep-sea aquaculture cages and seawater equipment
  • Other underwater facilities exposed to marine biofouling

Installation Requirements
  • Prepare a clean substrate: remove oil, rust, coatings and existing fouling before installation
  • Bond flat transducers with fixing rings; select pipe adapter brackets by pipe diameter for pipe transducers
  • Mount the control module in a dry engine-room or equipment-room location
  • Route cables at least 20 cm from other critical wiring; protect with flame-retardant corrugated conduit
  • Keep transducers at least 30 cm from large obstacles (rudder bearings, stringers)
  • Separate transducers from depth sounders, fish finders and other acoustic equipment to reduce interference
  • Avoid installation on fuel- and freshwater-tank outer walls and within 50 cm of these tanks

Maintenance Recommendations
  • Check control-module indicators and cable connections monthly
  • Inspect transducer fixation, sealing and fuses every six months
  • Inspect transducer surfaces and mounting during annual hull maintenance
  • Evaluate anti-fouling performance relative to hull coating condition, operating area and local fouling pressure

Information Required for Selection
  • Vessel or offshore facility type
  • Hull and pipeline materials
  • Areas to be protected and estimated surface area
  • Seawater-pipe outer diameters and mounting locations
  • Available power source and voltage
  • Cable distance between the control module and each transducer
  • Locations of existing depth sounders, fish finders or other acoustic equipment
  • Structural drawings or photographs of intended installation areas
