Product OverviewTECHSPEC® Hard Coated OD 4.0 50 nm bandpass filters are engineered for imaging systems such as machine vision inspection, fluorescence microscopy and biotech/analytical instruments. These single-substrate, hard-coated filters provide deep out-of-band blocking and high in-band transmission to improve signal-to-noise for detection and imaging applications.
Key Features- High transmission with deep out-of-band blocking (average OD ≥4.0)
- 50 nm nominal bandwidth (family common spec: ~45 nm)
- Available at multiple VIS and IR center wavelengths and diameters
- Hard-coated construction for steeper spectral slopes and consistent performance
Performance NoteFilters are optimized for spectral performance rather than high laser damage threshold. Typical LIDT: ~1 J/cm2 @ 532 nm, 10 ns.
Common Specifications- Construction: Mounted in black anodized ring; mount thickness 5.0 ±0.1 mm
- Angle of Incidence: 0° (nominal)
- Optical Density (average): ≥4.0
- Substrate: Optical glass; Coating: Hard coated; Surface quality: 80-50
- Bandwidth (FWHM): family nominal 50 nm (typical table entry 45 nm)
- Blocking range (example): 200–1200 nm
- Durability: Adhesion/abrasion/cleaning per MIL-PRF-13830B and MIL-C-48497A; Environmental: MIL-STD-810H (humidity, temperature)
Applications- Machine vision inspection
- Fluorescence microscopy
- Biotech and analytical instrumentation requiring improved signal-to-noise
Additional InformationMounted TECHSPEC® filters include an arrow on the mount indicating the coated surface (S1); anti-reflective coating applied to the opposite surface (S2). Family offers multiple center wavelengths and diameters to suit imaging system requirements.
