DescriptionTECHSPEC® Thin Fused Silica Plano-Convex (PCX) Laser Lenses are manufactured with an ultra-thin center thickness to enable lighter, more compact optical assemblies. These lenses use ion-beam sputtered (IBS) low-loss anti-reflection (AR) coatings that cover visible and near-infrared (NIR) bands. They are available in standard imperial diameters with effective focal lengths from 50 mm to 2000 mm. IR fused silica has reduced OH- content, increasing transmission across the NIR and reducing UV transmission compared to UV fused silica.

Substrates and transmissionIR fused silica (low OH-) provides improved transmission in the NIR; UV fused silica preserves transmission in the UV. Select substrate grade and coating range according to spectral requirements and application (laser delivery, imaging, collimation).
