Description

Product Overview
The Sheet Metal Testing Machine, Model 134, is an electro-hydraulic universal testing machine designed for cupping and deep-draw testing of sheet metals. It features a maximum drawing force of 120 kN and allows for pre-setting the blank holder pressure up to 45 kN. The machine includes a blanking head with a maximum blanking force of 200 kN, supports automatic test sequences, and can automatically stop at specimen failure. Operation is managed via a resistive touch panel with automatic menu navigation.

Purpose and Application
This machine is ideal for performing all important and known deep drawing tests for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as a wide range of additional technological investigations. It can also perform the Olsen Test (commonly used in the USA) with the appropriate tools. Key reasons for using Model 134 include:
  • Lowering manufacturing costs by spot-checking the drawing quality of cold rolled sheet during production or in process departments.
  • Sorting out lower quality materials upon arrival at the Goods Inwards Department, enabling immediate assessment of supplied material quality without special test preparations.
  • Determining the most appropriate sheet thickness for a specific drawn workpiece to optimize the price-to-suitability ratio for manufacturing processes.

Design
The machine is built with a robust steel plate housing that accommodates the test head, including a test cylinder with three working pistons for blanking/sheet holding, drawing, and ejecting. Emergency-stop switches are located on the control panel next to the touch panel. Two control valves for drawing and sheet holding force adjustment are conveniently mounted at the front. Internally, the housing contains the drive motor, hydraulic pump, oil tank, electro-hydraulic control gear, and electronic measuring transducers for precise detection of test parameters.

Further Technical Advantages
  • Cylinder head with bayonet lock for direct access to drawing dies, blanking rings, blank holders, and quick tool changes.
  • Infinitely variable drawing speed that remains constant throughout the drawing movement, regardless of load changes.
  • Cardanic drawing die retention ensures consistent, parallel clamping of specimens, independent of thickness variations.
  • Crack-Detector enables automatic stop at specimen failure during the ERICHSEN Cupping Test.
