Type of Mill : PIN Mill
Used to grind or disintegrate any dry product of medium hardness into fine particles.
OPERATION:
The pin mill reduces particle size by impact and shearing between two discs equipped with pins/fingers (fixed or rotating) that rotate at high speed. The kinetic energy of the pins fragments the material into fine particles.
- The product is loaded into the center of the mill through a feed chute.
- The product is then moved by centrifugal force and ground by impacts on the hammers and through a stator.
- The particle size of the product is adjusted by the peripheral screen.
- The product is discharged from the bottom.
DESIGN:
- The stator, equipped with two toothed rings, is fixed to the door.
- The rotor, equipped with interchangeable manganese steel hammers, is mounted on a shaft housed in a fully removable casing.
- The feed chute is fixed to the door and equipped with a permanent magnetic separator easily accessible via a quick-opening flap.
ADVANTAGES:
Used for fine to ultrafine grinding of dry and fragile products.
- Ideal for obtaining homogeneous, high-purity powders.
- Specially adapted for fine products.
- Adjustable grinding parameters.
The fineness achieved depends on the rotation speed, the number and arrangement of the pins, and the feed rate. The pin mill allows for very fine particle sizes (down to a few microns), with precise control of particle distribution.
