Product IntroductionThe N500A 2.0 Gas Permeability Tester is a laboratory instrument integrating mechanical, electronic and software systems for quantitative measurement of gas transmission through films, sheets, foils and packaged containers. It supports testing of packaging items including bottles, bags, cans and boxes using gases such as O2, CO2, N2 and air.
Test PrincipleThe instrument operates on the differential pressure method. The sample is mounted between upper and lower chambers. After evacuation by a vacuum pump, a reference gas at controlled pressure is introduced to the upper chamber. Gas permeating through the sample is measured by monitoring pressure changes in the lower chamber and converting these into permeation values.
