Hansheng Automation's Sandblasting service delivers integrated abrasive surface treatment for high-precision machined parts and castings, enabling controlled surface conditioning for functional performance and consistent appearance.
OverviewHansheng's process is configured for precision components and castings. Finishes range from light cleaning to pronounced texturing by adjusting media type, air pressure and nozzle distance to meet specified surface profiles.
Media selection & process- Glass beads: Common for CNC parts; yields a clean satin/matte finish with minimal material removal — suitable for stainless steel and aluminum.
- Aluminum oxide: Hard, angular abrasive for aggressive cleaning, etching and profile generation to improve coating adhesion.
- Steel shot/grit: For heavy cleaning tasks and shot peening to enhance fatigue strength of critical parts.
- Ceramic beads: Durable media that reduces ferrous contamination — used where material purity is required (e.g., aerospace components).
Key advantages- Integrated workflow: Sandblasting combined with CNC machining and casting lines to minimize handling and lead time.
- Precision masking: Custom fixtures and plugs protect bearing journals, threaded holes and sealing surfaces so only intended areas are treated.
- Versatile capacity: From small intricate parts to large castings (capacity up to 3800 mm length).
- Material protocols: Specific procedures for aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, brass and cast iron to avoid contamination and reach target finishes.
- Controlled roughness: Ability to target Ra ranges and meet surface preparation standards (examples: SA 2.5, SA 3).
- Quality controls: Media filtration and replacement, automated pressure regulation to prevent part distortion, and batch inspection for uniformity and residue-free surfaces.
Applications- Deburring & deflashing: Remove machining burrs and casting flash to ensure correct assembly fit and safe handling.
- Surface preparation: Create profiles for optimal adhesion of PVD, powder coatings, paints or anodizing.
- Visual uniformity: Eliminate tool marks, heat discoloration and minor defects to produce consistent matte or satin appearances.
- Cleaning & descaling: Remove rust, mill scale and heat-treat residues from steel and cast iron parts.
- Stress relief (peening): Use spherical media to introduce compressive surface stresses and increase fatigue resistance for gears and transmission components.
Technical specifications- Max part dimensions: up to 3800 mm × 1500 mm × 1200 mm.
- Standard finishes: matte, satin, textured, etched.
- Surface roughness (Ra): controlled range 0.8 µm to 6.3 µm (customizable on request).
- Compatible materials: aluminum alloys; steels (carbon, stainless, tool); titanium; magnesium; copper alloys.
