Threaded pad S30

Overview
Style S master collets and their S30 pads are designed to eliminate common issues with master collets during bar feeding and machining. The pad's robust shoulder locates against the front of the groove in the master collet when loading bars, and the rear shoulder receives machining forces during operation. The S30 pad design requires no set screws through the pad OD or holes in the collet head angle.

Operation and benefits

• Maximum bearing surface between spindle and head angle. Absence of holes or slots in the head angle prevents uneven spindle wear from continuous use and avoids damaged threaded holes in the collet.
• Ease of use. Pads are interchangeable without removing the master collet from the spindle, enabling quick bar size changes. Independent clamps slide freely in and out for simple removal.
• Secure pad installation. A dovetail anchor system holds the pads captive during bar feeding, placing thrust on the pad shoulder rather than the clamp. The clamp assembly is not load-bearing during normal use, preventing pad dislodgement.
