Description The precision-engineered Hardinge® HQC® Quick-Change Collet System is designed for automatic screw machines, Hardinge® collet-ready CNC lathes and other chuck-style CNC lathes with A2-5, A2-6 and A2-8 spindles. The Collet Body, Spindle Mount and interchangeable Quick-Change Collet Heads are manufactured to Hardinge® standards to ensure consistent concentricity and repeatability.

Unique design The HQC® system delivers high gripping force without sacrificing accuracy. Its geometry improves concentricity control, reduces runout and maintains reliable clamping at elevated spindle speeds.

Increasing productivity Replace a 3-jaw power chuck with the HQC® Quick-Change Collet System to reduce rotating mass and safely increase spindle RPM. The system supports higher speeds and feeds with hi‑tech cutting tools, enabling faster cycle times. Chucking forces exceed those of jaw chucks and commonly used solid or master collets, and the smooth contours eliminate the interference problems associated with jaw chucks.

Unique collet head design with ±1⁄64" collet gripping range The HQC® heads offer a working range of ±1⁄64" (0.396 mm) for diameters under 2" and ±1⁄32" (0.793 mm) for diameters of 2" and over on automatic screw machines; on CNC lathes the range is -1⁄64" to +.008". This allows replacement of solid and master collets for bar work. HQC® collet heads feature replaceable inserts that form a seal while holding the collet segments together, protecting the spindle, collet body and draw tube from chips and coolant and delivering direct time and cost savings.
