Description

Overview
Designed for durability and reliability with SpringStart™ technology, Duramax® torches are available for handheld, mechanized (full-length and mini machine) cutting and gouging, and robotic cutting. Duramax torches offer an extensive array of specialty consumable options for applications including gouging, fine-feature cutting, extended-reach cutting, and flush cutting.

Applications
  • Drag cutting — For dragging the torch directly across the work piece
  • Extended reach cutting — For extended reach cutting applications
  • Extended reach gouging — For improved visibility and accessibility in confined spaces
  • Fine feature cutting — For cutting fine features
  • Flush cutting — For cutting flush to base materials
  • Marking — For scoring and indicating part identification, hole or weld locations
  • Max control gouging — For precise metal removal, shallower gouge profiles and light metal washing
  • Max removal gouging — For aggressive metal removal and deep gouge profiles
  • Mechanized cutting — For portable automation and table cutting
  • Precision gouging — For spot and tack weld removal at very low output current (<25 A)

Benefits
  • For hand cutting and gouging jobs — Duramax® 75° and 15° hand torches: the ergonomic 75° torch is suited for normal cutting; the 15° torch directs heat away from the operator during heavy gouging and enables cutting overhead or in hard-to-reach areas.
  • For machine jobs — Duramax full-length machine torches work with a wide variety of CNC cutting tables, track cutters and pipe-cutters. Mini machine torches are suited to lighter tables and pipe cutting where a full-length torch is too long.
  • For robotic jobs — Lightweight, small size and built-in positioning features enable easy integration and operation with light robot arms; an optional robotic clamp speeds integration.

Key accessory & upgrade information
Optional mechanical teach tool aids programming (touch the plate while programming cutting and pierce heights). Robotic clamp assembly kit (#228806) and robotic teach tool kit (#229456) are available as accessories.

Hypertherm cartridge consumable platform
The Hypertherm cartridge consumable platform is a single-piece cartridge system optimized by process and amperage to simplify parts and ensure process-specific performance.
