Overview
The battery-powered, portable handheld charge amplifiers by Kistler are designed for quasi-static and dynamic measurements with piezoelectric sensors, insulation testing of sensor chains, transmitter monitoring and interfacing with Kistler IO-Link or devices with ±10 V analog output. Integrated data acquisition enables standalone use where mains-powered amplifiers with a host PC are impractical.

Variants and functions
The 5811A00 combines charge amplifier functions with an insulation tester useful for maintenance and sensor/cable verification. The 5811A01 supports multichannel measurements and transmitter monitoring; its two M12 connectors are configurable as transmitter input, analog input or SDCI. Additional functions can be purchased and enabled via software license.

Data recording and battery
Recording duration depends on channel count, sampling rate and data format (example: single channel at 50 kSps saved in mdf ≈ 4.5 h). Typical battery life is 8–11 hours; runtime is reduced on the 5811A01 when the device powers sensors.
