Short description
The OPTIMASS 5400 is a Coriolis mass flowmeter for standard process applications with gases and liquids. The twin semi-bent tube sensor provides direct mass flow, density and temperature measurement and delivers derived values such as volume flow, concentration and velocity, together with extensive device and process diagnostics.

Performance & safety
Wide turndown ratio and ability to handle elevated temperatures and pressures. The outer casing provides an additional safety barrier with typical burst-case resistance up to 200 barg, enhancing occupational and plant safety.

Applications
Suitable for chemical and petrochemical processes, mobile installations on trucks, rail tankers and portable rigs (non-custody transfer), marine fuel consumption measurement, food, beverage and pharmaceutical processes (EHEDG / 3A certified variants available), dosing, batching and more.

Entrained Gas Management & diagnostics
When combined with the MFC 400 signal converter, the meter supports EGM™ for stable measurement across gas fractions up to 100% and provides two-phase flow indication (gas volume fraction, GVF). Built-in OPTICHECK diagnostics enable continuous monitoring of device health and application status. Bluetooth® connectivity allows commissioning, monitoring and on-site verification using a mobile device and dedicated apps; verification reports can be generated on-site.

Electronics & communications
Modular electronics with a comprehensive range of output options, including Ethernet-based field communications such as PROFINET over Ethernet-APL and EtherNet/IP™, as well as classic bus systems, analogue and discrete outputs. Sensor and electronics are designed for easy replacement and available in compact or remote (field-mounted) variants.
