Magnetostrictive position sensor for high-accuracy hydraulic applications up to 2000 mm.
The magnetostrictive position sensors in the IMS series are designed for use in hydraulic applications where high levels of accuracy and a long service life are required. They can be mounted directly in the cylinder, either via an internal flange with a 1 m cable or an external flange with a 5-pin connector. The sensor is permanently pressure-resistant up to 350 bar and can withstand pressure peaks of up to 500 bar.
The contactless measuring principle allows for use with dynamic movements.
The position is detected mechanically and contactlessly by a magnetic ring position sensor. The system is insensitive to misalignment and mechanical wear. The sensor can also be used to detect small oscillating movements with high dynamics. Its high resolution (up to 10 µm) and linearity of ±0.02% enable highly accurate position measurements, even over large travel lengths of up to 2000 mm.
Absolute signal with integrated electronics
The position is evaluated internally and output as an absolute analogue signal, which is immediately available after switching on without the need for a reference run.
